House Calls, LLC is owned and operated by Beth Albaneze, CTRS, CPRP, CLP. Beth started House Calls in 2004 when a family member moved to her home requiring a variety of services over time. Beth was motivated to secure and obtain resources for her loved one to ensure an optimal level of care. Beth brings to House Calls over 40 years of experience as a credentialed Rehabilitation Counselor and Certified Recreation Therapist with additional skills in Geriatric Care Management.

Beth is the founder of her award-winning company House Calls, LLC, which provides an array of specialized services from children to senior citizens. She has received many awards over the years including "Practitioner of the Year" from the Maryland Association of Psychosocial Services, National Society on Experiential Education, Best Buddies, American Association of Therapeutic Recreation and the Montgomery County Police Department. Her many titles have included Director of the 'Open Door’ program for the Montgomery County Recreation Department, Director of Students and Volunteers for two state-wide organizations and continued as Adjunct Faculty for over fifteen years - receiving an award for Outstanding Service in the Mental Health program at Montgomery College.

Beth, along with her team of specialized professionals, use techniques and strategies to enhance physical, emotional, intellectual and social functioning. The House Calls model is interdisciplinary utilizing one or more team specialist(s) under our House Calls umbrella. We pride ourselves in establishing an alternative approach by meeting clients in the comfort of their home during any acute or chronic life circumstance. Beth’s expertise in teaching Active Listening at the college enables the House Calls team to establish trust and rapport quickly. The family also is offered guidance, coaching, Counseling and any other requested service in order to establish effective family communication .

Sheri CohenSHERI COHEN
ADMINISTRATOR

Sheri has been with House Calls since 2006 and she provides office services by implementing administrative systems, billing clients, handling accounts receivable, payroll, monitoring contractors' hours and administrative projects. She creates & monitors record keeping systems and provides information to the team by answering questions and requests.

Cecilia earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from UMBC and plans to obtain a master’s degree in social work with a specialization in clinical work. Cecilia has an interest in working with families, young adults, adolescents, and justice-involved youth. She believes that everyone is worthy of help and is passionate about improving access to mental health care.

Cecilia has experience mentoring adolescents and young adults and has provided case management services to adults. She seeks to empower individuals to make positive changes in their lives. In her role as a coach, Cecilia takes a unique and individualized approach in order to best meet the needs of House Call’s diverse clients.

NORM FRIEDLANDER
ADDICTIONS COUNSELOR

Norm Friedlander is a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Maryland, an addictions counselor, and grateful recovering addict.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland University College in 1990.  He’s married with a teenage daughter.  Norm is profoundly serious about recovery and has extensive experience with twelve step fellowship programs and both inpatient and outpatient treatment programs.  He is also very involved with the area recovery community.  He brings passion, insight, and empathy to his job and strongly believes that his experience and education uniquely qualify him to be of service to those suffering through the pain of addiction to any substance including alcohol.

TORI INGRAMTori Ingram
DIRECTOR OF TRANSITION AND DISCHARGE

Tori specializes in assisting you and your loved ones with developing safe and appropriate transition. She works closely with other professionals in hospital settings, residential -treatment centers and outpatient clinics to ensure a plan that promotes long-term health and relapse prevention.

Tori has 20+ years of experience working and assisting clients with navigating the mental health and addictions systems. Some of her roles have included, Discharge Planning on Addictions and Mental Health Hospital units, Patient Access, Substance Abuse Treatment Coordination and Medical Coordination/Supervision for DDA funding homes.

As the Director of Transition and Discharge, Tori serves as a liaison with House Calls for your loved one working alongside professional staffers, family members, friends and community support agencies.

The road to recovering from mental health and addiction crisis can be long and difficult at times. You should not experience this transition alone. Start by visiting here and completing the intake form.  Our Case Manager will meet with you, and our team will determine if Discharge and Transition Services are appropriate for you.

Debbie C. MarcusDEBORAH C. MARCUS
RECREATION THERAPY

Debbie is a Certified Recreation Therapist and has been in the field for over 36 years. She has experience with people of all ages and disabilities. Her role with House Calls ranges from conducting Recreation Therapy assessments, coaching clients who are in life transition and teaching socialization behaviors.
 For those who are isolated, Debbie will meet at their home or Debbie facilitates a Social Club that meets two times/month to integrate them into the community through her role modeling and matching them with people who express similar interests. The goal is to create a lifestyle incorporating friendships made in the club.

DR. ALEXIS MCKENZIE, Msc.D., CDP, RM, CHT
MASTER CLINICIAN

Alexis MckenzieDr. Alexis McKenzie holds a doctorate degree and has over 25 years working in the field of Alzheimer’s and related dementia.

Currently, she has broadened her career and predominantly focuses her work with total wellness as a Holistic Counselor.

CASE MANAGEMENT

Debra Assists families transitioning parents and grandparents with home health services (physical, occupational, speech therapy, infusion, wound care, housekeeping, medication management, personal care, sitters, transportation).

Debra provides Case Management to people who suffer from feelings of depression, isolation or immobilization needing life coaching in the comfort of their own home, to help formulate a new path both recreational and vocational.

The Director of Case Management is your initial contact to House Calls. We provide a link to our intake form: right on our website. After the intake is completed and submitted, Debra meets with you and our team determines what services are appropriate.

Sarah PutnamSARAH PUTNAM
LIFE COACH/MEDICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH CARE MANAGEMENT

Sarah Putnam graduated at the top of her class at UMBC with a degree in psychology. She has worked with House Calls as an intern and then contractor for two Years. She has been working with clients in a variety of roles such as daily living, vocational, educational and social coaching with individuals with various mental health and medical challenges, ranging from mood disorders and/or combined case management.  Her passion is to help those with life challenges achieve the highest quality of life possible.

EVELYN GORDON PYRDOLEvelyn Gordon Pyrdol

Evelyn has worked as an employee and consultant in Healthcare Administration for 40+ years. She has held positions in numerous medical practices functioning as a leader in management and healthcare billing. She is knowledgeable in CPT and ICD 10 coding with an additional expertise in health insurances of the MidAtlantic and the Federal/State Laws governing the medical billing process.

She is available to assist individuals who have questions or need help in following up on all sorts of medical billing issues such as:

  • Did the doctor accurately bill for professional and facility services? (For example: Why did the insurance company receive 4 bills for 1 colonoscopy?)
  • Did your insurance company reimburse correctly?
  • Was the invoice requesting me to pay a deductible, coinsurance, or copay to my doctor/facility accurate?
  • How can I work with the physician’s office/facility/insurance company to achieve accurate payment when a billing error occurred?
  • What are the details of my specific health insurance policy(ies)? Would a different insurance payor be more appropriate for my needs?
  • What are the Federal/State Laws governing my payment (i.e., routine versus diagnostic diagnoses0? How does this impact reimbursement from both the insurance company and me?

Shereen RubensteinSHEREEN RUBENSTEIN, MSW

Shereen Rubenstein, MSW, has practiced as a social worker in various fields and is currently becoming more specialized as a life coach. She has worked extensively with parents in the home and in support groups, counseled sexual assault victims, and facilitated groups for teen girls at risk. Shereen is currently coaching clients to overcome challenges and fulfill their life goals using practical, manageable, and realistic strategies.

Pamela Mills is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Certified Alzheimer & Disease and Dementia Care Trainer and Assisted Living Manager. She holds a Masters of Arts degree from the Erickson School for the Management of Aging Services at University of Maryland and has over 30 years’  experience in the field of Aging Services. She is the author of the Total Quality Engagement and Human Connection models, each integrating evidenced-based practices to create a meaningful life for people living with neurocognitive impairment. Her work on
generating and maintaining programs that support and enhance the well-being for older adults has been published in Longterm Living magazine as well as presented at conferences and webinars. Most importantly, her heartfelt passion is for designing and implementing creative, insightful, person-directed services for older adults, where each person can feel comfort, joy and achievement. In addition to spending time with family, Pamela and her husband enjoy outdoor activities, volunteering and tending to their flock of backyard fowl and household pets.

  • Pam is a Senior Living transition and resource specialist, who can help with downsizing and finding community support or other resources for your loved one.

  • Pam works with care coordination for all types of senior living situations.
  • Pam can help you find the right professional caregiving services for your loved one, interviewing and recommending personal caregivers.
  • Pam works with care coordination and representation for your loved one after they transition to a healthcare community, assuring they receive the highest quality care and feel comfortable in their new surroundings.
  • Pam can provide individual training on best practices for assisting a person living with neurocognitive impairment, including best ways to secure your home and respond to challenging behavior.

I have a joyful passion for serving others. I so enjoy and have many years experience as a therapist in Long Term Care and Assisted Living. I also worked at Medstar Montgomery General Hospital for over a decade. I currently provide life coaching and personal training to many different people in the home setting. My experience ranges from assisting children to senior citizens with mental illness, addiction, depression and people of all ages experiencing acute or chronic life struggles.

I truly feel a connection to others and am deeply grateful to be on this team.

Ricci has had extensive personal and professional experience working with the LGBT community and is familiar with the resources available to walk families through this difficult time of transition.

Dr. Stubbs is a determined and results driven professional with 30 plus years of experience providing opportunities for growth and development in support of organizational missions. Renee provides presentations on a variety of topics nationally.

Renee's role with House Calls includes conducting recreation therapy assessments, providing treatment services to clients and teaching relaxation skills.

Dr. Stubbs is our Liaison for Assisted Living and Long Term Care. Dr. Stubbs identifies the best residence for our clients needing a more restrictive environment and acts as an advocate on their behalf.

ANNIE TULKIN
Annie TulkinON BEHALF OF HOUSE CALLS, LLC

Annie Tulkin is the Founder and Director of Accessible College, where she provides college transition support for students with physical disabilities and health conditions nationally.

Annie was the Associate Director of the Academic Resource Center at Georgetown University for nearly 6 years. In that position she supported undergraduate, graduate and medical students with physical disabilities and health conditions and oversaw academic support services for the entire student body. Annie has worked in the field of disability for over 10 years.

She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from DePaul University, a Masters in Special Education from The University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Certificate in Health Coaching from Georgetown University. Annie was a Peace Corps Volunteer (Mongolia, ‘03-’05) and a Fulbright Fellow (Mongolia, ‘07-’08). She resides in Silver Spring, MD with her husband and toddler.

JOCELYN VAS, LGPC

Jocelyn provides a tailored therapeutic approach as each individual, couple, and family presents a different story and a different perspective. Jocelyn assists clients with identifying and processing core struggles in order to gain personal awareness and change maladaptive emotional, cognitive, and behavioral problems. Jocelyn can assist with resources in the community and assistance working with and navigating health insurance.

Jocelyn is available for individual counseling, and is also available as an extension to private practice counseling. She can assist the client with daily needs that the private practice therapist is unable to assist with. Jocelyn is available via email, the telephone, or in person for support.

Jocelyn's therapeutic services are eclectic, but focus on childhood experiences and their impact on the client in the present. With assisted guided examination of self and self-awareness, Jocelyn can support and guide the client through this process to promote positive change.
